my father is in gods hands now

i got the text message this morning that my father passed away last night.
i knew this was coming and no mater how much you prepare yourself when it finally hits you it cuts your heart like a knife.
i will miss him but he is not suffering anymore, i am not a church going person but i am very spiritual and i know that there is a god up there somewhere why he allows people to suffer, disease, war, and the pain we all have here on earth happen is beyond me but its all part of a master plan that we know nothing of, but i do believe that if we try to live a good life and do right to others tat there is a better place after we pass from this earth.
so hopefully he will be there.

  1. Ric. I'm sorry to hear that you got that text.
There is a better place tho i do believe
and its a lot better than where we are now.
I know its hard when someone passes on to that place before we do
and when its someone you really love it can feel like you've been left
behind. I assure you there's a place better than any black holy book can explain and the guy running it invited everyone... there's just a line and all the good guys are at the front. The bad have a long way to go but are still in that line. And most of us just kinda sit in the middle of that line contemplating if the line is going anywhere or if there will be room for us inside once we get there and whether we will be allowed in if its full. But we all eventually get in. It tends to be the people that we love most that get in before us ... and thats typically just so that someone is there to welcome us as life is a really long line and there a lot of things better to know and show up there than we could ever imagine because of the side-effects and some of the hardship we face during our lives waiting to pass on and in ( but never away).

  7. 'i do believe that if we try to live a good life and do right to others tat there is a better place after we pass from this earth.'

nope. no god. no meaning to the pain. no rewards for good deeds. nothing happens for a reason. just life and death.

just you and the memories of friends and loved ones lost; And the fond memories you leave behind for everyone else... hopefully the last thing you said was: I care about you, or i love you--people don't say it enough and it becomes the biggest regret/sin of all.

its human to habitually take for granted things, and later regret not realizing how much important those things were.

in all this randomness and chaos, at least you can find some meaning; these moments are best served as a reminder to take opportunity to let those still around to know how much you care about them. Maybe that would be the best way for people to honor the dead.
